PEDIATRIC ULTRASOUND IMAGING / SONOGRAPHY
Depending on the clinical problem, it may be advisable / necessary to perform an ultrasound examination which can be done directly at my doctor’s office.
The Ultrasound Examination is based on (ultra) high-pitched sound waves without any side effects, if used appropriately.
In children, ultrasound proves to be useful in examining, for example:
– Upper Abdomen (Liver, Spleen, Pancreas)
– Lower Abdomen / Urogenital System (Kidney, Bladder, Gonads)
– Pleura
– Intestine
– Brain (in newborn babies or infants)
– Hip joint (in infants for evaluating dysplasia, in older children for evaluating joint pain)
– Neck
– Vessels
